Book Review: "Lusty Wind for Carolina" by Inglis Fletcher - 1944

I picked up this book at Goodwill because it was old and looked lonely--and had pirates.

It is a historical novel about the settling of North Carolina in the early 1700s.  It was a good book, but there were times I got rather bored.  The pirates were one dimensional characters--as were some of the settlers.  I believe it was historically accurate-which may be why the story dragged a little.  There is romance and excitement--and it all seems so very real.

The book is part of a series of NC historical novels by this author--and if I see another one at Goodwill, I won't hesitate to buy it.
